Roddy Frew and Brian Johnstone from James Frew Ltd were invited to West College in Paisley to meet with Audrey Cumberford, Principal of West College and Shirley-Anne Somerville, Minister for Further Education. Shirley-Anne Somerville was interested to understand the relationship between the business and college, how the partnership had developed and the advantages the two parties had gained.
West College has been a key partner in the training for James Frew Ltd over the last 3 years providing various courses including Customer Care Training, Leadership Training and Gas Courses. Over half the total workforce consists of fully qualified gas engineers who require to hold multiple certifications that is required to be refreshed every five years. These certifications are achieved through extensive training and assessments of core and specialist qualifications.
The relationship between West College and James Frew Ltd helps ensure the ongoing training plan in place for all staff are met and the quality of training received is to the highest standard going forward.
