James Frew Ltd recently supported an incredible fundraiser to raise funds for a local Ayrshire charity
The event held at The Carlton Hotel in Prestwick was organised by TeamBeth, a group of people raising funds in honour of a very special little girl Beth Beattie, who sadly passed away in November 2016.
The event that featured a fire walk, Ceilidh, buffet and raffle was a huge success, raising a total of £25,885.29 to be donated directly to a charity called Memories are Better than Dreams. The charity was set up by the paediatric care team from Crosshouse Hospital and aims to help families make special memories with their children suffering a long-term condition towards the end of their life.
The financial and emotional stress of having a child with a long-term condition makes it impossible for a family to provide opportunities to make lasting memories. The charity provide memory making activities, special memory boxes and remembrance items tailored specifically to fulfil the wishes of each family. James Frew were delighted to be able to offer support by supplying safety barriers and a large skip to dispose of the coals after the event.
Roddy Frew Managing Director of James Frew said, ‘’We were honoured to sponsor an amazing and successful event for such a worthwhile charity. TeamBeth have raised over £73,000 for Scottish Charities over the last few years and are an inspiration to us all. They should be very proud.’’
