James Frew Ltd recently sponsored a young local 14 year old who had the incredible opportunity to represent Scotland at the European Taekwondo Championships in Estonia.
Hard work, determination and several hours of training every week did not go unnoticed, and Cameron was selected by his supportive Coaches to travel 1100 miles to Estonia for the honour of competing for his country.
Cameron competed in five events including two individual sparring fights; one of which was against a previous European champion, two self-defence and a team pattern. Narrowly missing out on two bronze medals, Cameron done exceptionally well in all events and has gained an incredible experience to learn from.
Roddy Frew, Managing Director, James Frew Ltd said, ‘’Cameron sent in a letter to the company requesting a sponsorship donation to help with the cost of travelling to Estonia. James Frew is inundated with sponsorship requests, but we are so glad we were able to send a cheque to help Cameron on his journey. A massive well done from everyone here at James Frew Ltd.’’
Cameron Mills added, ‘’I am very proud and happy with my performance at the European Championships. I have gained a lot of experience for the future and I would like to thank all the people & sponsors who got me there. It is very much appreciated.’’
Taekwondo was developed during the 1940s and is a Korean martial art, by its emphasis on head-height kicks, jumping & spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques.
