In a heart-warming effort to give back to the community, James Frew partnered with Kincaidston Community Centre to transform their outdated toilet facilities. Led by our dedicated training manager John Dougall, a team of skilled apprentices – Matthew Lavery, Euan McInally and Coby McCann – took on the challenge of bringing the community centre’s male and female toilets back to life.
The renovation work began on 2nd December 2024, with the team undertaking a full refurbishment. The project included replacing all the wet wall panelling, installing new WC pans and cisterns, and upgrading the wash hand basins to sleek semi-pedestals. To ensure a polished and professional finish, all work was boxed in and sealed with silicone, leaving the facilities not only functional but visually appealing.
Performance and Development Manager John Dougall said:
“This project was a fantastic opportunity for our apprentices to put their skills into practice while making a real difference to the community. Matthew, Euan and Coby demonstrated professionalism and dedication throughout the refurbishment. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how their hard work has transformed the facilities and brought so much joy to the volunteers at Kincaidston Community Centre.”
The project reached its completion just in time for Christmas, much to the delight of the community centre’s volunteers. Their reaction was sheer joy, as the updated facilities replaced the worn, outdated toilets that were in desperate need of modernisation.
