We are thrilled to announce that as part of our Annual Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), the CCS Assessor has awarded James Frew 3 grades of “Excellent”, in relation to the 3 key areas.
- Respect the Community
- Care for the Environment
- Value their Workforce
The assessor commended James Frew on our community involvement and was pleased to hear about our significant sponsorship and support for the local North Ayrshire community events and initiatives. In addition, the assessor was impressed with our engagement with the local community through the use of local supply chain, our employment of local labour, and our support for local retail with the area.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a not-for-profit, independently managed organisation that supports and guides positive change in the construction industry. The scheme is designed to help constructors improve their behaviours and the impact of construction activity. The Code of Considerate Practice focuses on three key areas: respecting the community, caring for the environment and valuing the workforce.
Operations Director Andrew Fogarty said: “We are delighted with the outcome of our recent visit. We have introduced a number of initiatives within our Modernisations Business Unit which have been positively received by employees and stakeholders. For example, as part of our healthy eating campaign, we are now providing fresh fruit on site, sourced from a local supplier.
The monitoring visit was led by SHEQ Compliance Manager John Brennan who said: “This external recognition confirms that our sites are effectively managed, and our operations are in safe hands and well led by Paul Lynn, Steven McInnes and Michael McFarlane. The Considerate Constructors Scheme recognises the work we do in going the “extra-mile” for our clients and customers and I am delighted with the three grades of Excellent.”
