ECO4 Scheme Eligibility for Tenant / Homeowner

To be eligible for ECO4 funding the tenant or homeowner (i.e., the person or persons living on the property) must be a recipient of a qualifying Government Benefit from the list below. The list is subject to change from time to time and the most up-to-date is always found on OFGEM’s website.

Even if you are not the recipient of the benefits mentioned below you may still be eligible if the recipient of the benefit resides within the same household as you.

What Allowances Qualify for the ECO4 Scheme?

  • Child Tax Credits (CTC)
  • Child Benefit (subject to criteria)
  • Universal Credit (UC)
  • Housing Benefit (a new benefit making people eligible for ECO4)
  • Pension Credit Savings (another new eligible benefit for ECO4)
  • Income Based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
  • Income Related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Income Support (IS)
  • Pension Credit Guarantee
  • Working Tax Credit (WTC)

LA Flex Funding Scheme

If you are not receiving any benefits, you may still qualify under the LA Flex funding scheme. LA Flex is an acronym for ‘Local Authority Eligibility Flexibility.’

This platform is designed to help homeowners who are not currently receiving any type of aid but are still struggling financially with heating their homes. Energy companies that are approved by this scheme can provide you with significant discounted rates if the insulation within your home needs to be upgraded.

Each Local Authority (LA) has published its own ECO4 Statement of Intent, which provides information regarding qualifying criteria and the application process. This allows the LA to design its own eligibility criteria for the funding to match the needs of its residents, i.e., Age, Health Conditions, Income Levels, Vulnerable Occupiers, etc.

Applications for LA Flex will be carried out by James Frew Ltd. free of charge on behalf of the customer, to save you time and hassle. Once we have completed your application, your Local Authority will give us a Declaration to confirm we can proceed with installing the energy-efficient measures identified as required for your home.

Register Your Interest

We will arrange a FREE survey by one of our qualified and certified surveyors, this will consist of an inspection of your home’s energy efficiency measures which will take approximately 2 hours. Home survey visits are designed to be minimally intrusive and at a time that suits you.
